Joinery commissions and installation
These Terms govern joinery services provided by Atelier Menuiserie Léman ("we") to clients ("you") for custom furniture design, production and installation in Switzerland.
Guide prices on our website are indicative. A binding quote follows site survey and approved shop drawings. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless material costs change materially. Commissions are confirmed upon signed agreement and deposit receipt.
Site survey fee (from CHF 220) is due at booking. Production commissions require a deposit stated on the quote—typically 40% to commence workshop build. Balance is due before or on delivery unless agreed otherwise for corporate accounts. The site survey fee is credited toward commissions above CHF 2,650 when you proceed within 60 days.
Shop drawings, material samples and finish schedules must be signed before production begins. Changes requested after approval may incur additional cost and delay delivery. We are not responsible for discrepancies arising from client-approved drawings.
Site surveys may be cancelled without charge if rescheduled at least 48 hours in advance. Production cancellations after deposit forfeit the deposit and may incur costs for materials already ordered or work completed. Custom joinery cannot be returned once built to your specifications.
Installation dates are agreed in advance. We protect floors and existing finishes during installation. You must ensure clear access, parking where required and that other trades (electrical, plumbing, stone) have completed their work where coordination is specified. Delays caused by incomplete site preparation may incur rescheduling fees.
Natural timber may vary in grain and colour within the same species. We select boards for consistency but cannot guarantee exact match to sample boards or existing joinery in all cases. Significant variations are discussed before finishing.
We warrant our workmanship for 24 months from installation against defects in assembly and hardware function under normal domestic use. Natural movement of solid timber, wear of finishes and damage from misuse are excluded. Adjustments within the first month are included; subsequent repairs are billed at CHF 180/h workshop time.
We may photograph completed work for portfolio use unless you opt out in writing before installation. Personal photography of your home remains your responsibility.
Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant commission except where Swiss mandatory consumer law provides otherwise. We are not liable for indirect loss such as temporary accommodation costs beyond our control.
These Terms are governed by Swiss law. Place of jurisdiction is Geneva, subject to mandatory consumer protection provisions that may entitle you to bring proceedings in your place of residence.
